Writing The Perfect Release
Throughout my internship at my PR firm as well as the classes I have taken in college, I have had multiple trial and errors perfecting the perfect press, news, and new hire releases. It can be very intimidating and hard to start writing a release. Most people get a form of writer black and struggle in terms of beginning writing their piece. The first thing you want to make sure you do is to have a clear understanding of what you are writing about, and who your audience is. Making sure you are directing your writing to the appropriate audience is key. Once you have a good understanding, you're ready to write. If you are writing a press or news release, make sure you come up with a title that is clear and to the point. You don't want to confuse your audience in any way- so it's better to keep it simple.
